Testimony by D. Hart, Mother to Harry diagnosed with Asbergers in 2006.
My son Harry, aged 10, was diagnosed with Asbergers Syndrome two years ago.
Admitedly, I feel often that I am in over my head as to how to help Harry as his biggest challenges seem to be his lack of empathy, mood swings, occasional bursts of anger, and a saddenly lack of gross motor skills – he has a very difficult time writing, and playing sports.
I have always been open to alternative medicine applications, particularly homoeopathy, and when I saw a notice on a wall for parents with children, with learning difficulties, ADD, ADHD and Autism, I gave the woman a call. Silvia Henrich was the practitioner of a brand of healing she refers to as Bio- Energy Therapy.
After a consultation with Silvia I was a bit skeptical although she seemed to push all the right buttons. She explained that Bio Energy was the act of pushing away bad energy to get his aura refocused, and to allow Harry's positive energy to flow. She discussed “brain gym”, which allows both hemispheres of the brain to work together – Silvia also explained some of her concepts why she feels children may be born with specific challenges.
After the consultation, I decided to meet with her and felt that perhaps this could be good for Harry, at least he had nothing to loose.
The sessions consist of four days of roughly one to one and a half hours of bio energy- working with Harry's energy and truly, I thought Harry would begin to laugh, as I nearly started to myself, as Silvia is moving invisible air in large sweeping motions and at first, I thought: “Oh no – what a crack pot”, but as the days moved on, I began to feel a change in Harry. He seemed lighter and easier to coax into chores and homework, and at the end of the four days, he did seem an easier child. Harry was “dowsed” for Bach Flower Remedies, and again each flower that Silvia Chose for him (which were actually chosen through the energy of Harry, touching each Bach Flower bottle with one hand and his other hand on Silvia's knee) seemed to be exactly what Harry needed in regards to his personality and difficulties.
“The BIG therapy” would take place when Tom gets here!” said Silvia. Tom goes much deeper than I can go and gets to the root of the problem “if you will”, where the problem began, and gets rid of the blockage.
So after Harry's four days with Silvia and continuing his Bach Flowers, we were to wait until the end of February for Tom to arrive. So I was waiting but still not expecting anything spectacular.
However, on the day we were to meet Tom, I became very nervous as to what Tom could or could not do and did not want to get my hopes up but the instant that Tom met Harry, he had him stand up in the middle of the room and looked into his eyes and asked his assistant and Silvia and myself to look at Harry, “there it is – can you see it?!”.
Well, I couldn't look because I was very upset, crying because this man who had never seen Harry is claiming that in an instant he can see Harry's problem and crying because of the amount of hope in that small sentence, calling us over to look at Harry.
Tom said:”Look at his left eye”.
In a nutshell, Tom said that his left eye was not synchronized and this was because the left side of his brain wasn't working – that shock at birth, vaccinations and severe trauma going back to my great grandfather, somehow manifested itself through Harry. Tom did not elaborate and unfortunately this part of the therapy disappointed as I wanted to really sit down for a long time with Tom and have him explain – but he was very pressed for time.
He began to run his hands all over Harry's head and neck and calling out numbers for Silvia to write down, which appeared to be bones in Harry's head that were aligned or misaligned and according to Tom, if these bones are aligned they can help Harry's left side to begin to function again. How?
Tom asked Harry to lay down, and compared his legs and his left leg was longer than the right and he placed his hands together and the left hand was longer, again because of the misalignment.
Then Tom put a headphone on Harry's head to play sounds, (which I never heard). Tom kept it on for about ten minutes. Afterwards, when he took the headphone off of Harry's head he said, as did Silvia and his assistant, that his eyes were synchronized and again asked Harry to lay down, and yes , his legs and hands were the same.
Apparently, the sounds (chimes or series of bells as Harry explained the sounds) align the hemispheres of his brain. I then explained that Harry had a very difficult time writing and Harry was asked to sit down and write his name, and fill out details such as his address, age, birthday etc. and did so in a fabulous way and without fuss, and not pressing his pen hard into the paper.
In all, we were in the clinic for thirty minutes and Harry and I were very emotional. When we got into the car Harry said: “I can see (the air freshener in the window) and beyond!”.
It has been two weeks since we have seen Tom, I have seen a huge change in Harry! It is not necessarily noticeable unless you are looking for it, for he is basically the same child, but he does seem more focused. I thought that I would wait until I got some confirmation from his teachers, which came on the following week, without prompting, from his special needs assistance teacher, whom I had met in the shop before school. She wanted to know what was I doing with Harry, because he is a totally different kid. She said Harry was more focused, less whingy, still and peaceful in class and although Harry has never been a discipline problem, one has to sit on top of him to get work done and this was no longer the case.
Well, to me that was what I was waiting to hear. At home I do not have to sit on Harry to get his work done and although he can still be sloppy with his writing, it is because he “has better things to do with my time!”, but when I sit with him and ask him to redo the sloppy work he does so and beautifully!
To sum up – I do feel strongly that the work Tom and Silvia have done with Harry has been helpful and I would highly recommend anyone to try. I have seen the difference in Harry and he has noticed changes in himself and I am very thankful

Testimony from Pauls Mother 2008.
(dyslexia,behavioural difficulties)
My son Paul, who is 9 years old, started primary school in September 2003, at the age of 4 years and 9 months old. By December of 2003, his teacher told me, that she could see him, already needing to repeat junior infants, the following year. When I questioned her as to why, she could not as she said, 'put her finger on it'. I felt Paul was able for senior infants, so let him do the year. It was during this year, 2004 that the school sent him for an educational, psychological assessment, which showed up his Dyslexia. Paul at this stage had difficulty in every aspect of his education. He could one day count to 5 and write his numbers, on the following day remember no numbers or just about write them out, but in the wrong order and back to front. This was also true of his written work and reading, which at times was like taking 3 steps forward one day and ten back the following day. Paul became very frustrated and angry with himself, and became quite challenging in his behaviour in school. by the middle of 2004, I was at despairs edge.
When the school principle approached me and asked me to consider 'Brain Gym' for Paul. He put me in touch with Silvia Henrich, who both I and Paul attended for 6 months. She showed Paul the 'Brain Gym' exercises, working on both his letters and numbers. Silvia gave me a series of exercises to do with Paul at home on a continuous basis. He slowly showed some positive results. He became a much less angry child, and didn't have as much trouble in school, and I suddenly started getting positive reports back fron his teachers. Paul himself began to see that he had abilities that before were hidden. Paul met Tom Griffin first in 2005 and after a session with Tom, I can only describe it as being like a switch being turned on in Pauls brain. School and his Dyslexia became much easier for him. He became much prouder of himself and his abilities. He has been treated by Tom Griffin 3 times, between 2005-2008, and has shown improvements every time. Most recently Pauls teacher showed me a spelling test which he had done. She had given him 10/10. I along with Paul are both very proud of his achievements, which he would not have managed without the help and dedication of both Silvia Henrich and Tom Griffin.
